Trump’s Ambassador to the United Nations just got pranked by a pair of Russian comedians who got her to declare that Putin “absolutely” interfered in the elections of a fictitious South China Sea island country (listen below).
UN Ambassador Nikki Haley told comedians Vovan and Lexus – whose real names are Alexei Stolyarov and Vladimir Kuznetsov – that without further evidence, she believed Russia interfered in elections on the other side of the world, while her party continues to deny Putin’s obvious attack on American democracy.
Eleven minutes into their twenty-two-minute chat, the prankster asked Haley about “Binomo,” a non-extant island near Vietnam, which he claimed had declared independence and held elections recently. Nikki Haley’s response shows just how blatantly the former Republican Governor of South Carolina is faking it in her new job as an international diplomat:
“You know Binomo?” the man said, to which Haley replied “yes, yes.”
“They had elections and we suppose Russians had its intervention,” the man said.
“Yes, of course they did, absolutely,” Haley replies. “We’ve been watching that very closely, and I think we will continue to watch that as we deal with the issues that keep coming up about the South China Sea.”
The prankster even spelled out B-I-N-O-M-O to make certain Ambassador Haley understood the name despite his accent.
Nikki Haley obviously did not vet the phone call from a man whom she thought was the Prime Minister of Poland, but she was effusive in her thanks for that nation’s real diplomats actually abstaining from a recent, highly embarrassing vote against America because of Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Haley bluntly told the man she thought was a Polish diplomat that, “the Russians obviously didn’t help” in a vote America was widely expected to lose by a gross margin, after which she threatened many of our country’s allies.
Twenty minutes into the discussion, the comedian tried to tip his hand to Haley by claiming that Kevin Spacey was accused of sexually assaulting the President of Ukraine. Ambassador Haley responded “that is interesting,” and she would “definitely pull that up and read it… it’s a strange time.”
Then the prankster upped the ante, saying that one of Poland’s former Prime Ministers was harassed by Donald Trump in 2012. Notwithstanding that Poland’s Prime Minister was a man in 2012, followed by two women, our top diplomat in the UN was clueless and clearly wasn’t using the internet to fact check the lengthy conversation in real time.
Haley replied to the prankster’s serious, potentially international incident-provoking revelation thusly:
“It’s an interesting time and a lot of accusations coming forward, but we’ll continue, we’re trying to stay as focused as we can and continue to push forward to get some things done.”
Ambassador Haley’s stone cold response demonstrates vividly how callous Trump’s team truly is.
Her lengthy chat with the Russian pranksters is yet another example of the Trump Administration placing unqualified people into jobs on the world stage, who then go forth to embarrass our country.
The saddest part of the entire story is that Nikki Haley is widely considered to be one of the more competent members of the entire Trump Administration, but she’s not a skilled diplomat and this incident shows how her lack of experience hurts America’s image abroad.
